My story is one many people may recognize: a busy life, unhealthy eating habits, and little exercise. Over the years, I tried several programs, including Weight Watchers online, two rounds of Custom Fat Loss with Dr. Matt, and two rounds of Noom. Each helped, but something was still missing.

For me, the missing pieces were accountability and more movement. Walking alone was not enough. When I won a free trial month at Tall Trainer, I decided to go for it. I had been overweight for a long time, was tired of relying on multiple medications, and knew I needed to take control of my health.

Taking the First Step

In April 2025, I walked into my first immersion class feeling nervous, embarrassed, and completely out of my comfort zone. I almost turned around before I even got started. But Jeremy and Dominic welcomed me right away, and that made all the difference. Working out in a group setting—or with a trainer—was completely new to me, but they helped me feel like I belonged from the moment I walked in.

That first day helped calm my nerves. My classmates introduced themselves, the workout felt manageable, and I thought, “Okay, maybe I can do this.” Then came “Basics Day.” Wow. Something that looked so simple turned out to be a serious challenge. I quickly realized how much my posture needed work, and every movement reminded me that my body had some catching up to do. Now, “Basics Day” is my favorite part of the month because that reset really helps me as I continue throughout my workouts and in general.

Day 2 brought strength training and weights—another tough but rewarding session. Then came Day 3: “Rest” day. Yeah, right! Day 4 and Day 5 were a blur, but by the end of that first week, I was sore in places I did not know could be sore. I had moved in ways my body was not used to, and somehow, it felt great. I had more energy, more focus, and a real sense of pride because I was finally doing something to take control of my health. When my wife asked how the gym was going, I told her, “I think they are trying to kill me!”

Accountability and Community

When people ask, “Why Tall Trainer?” my answer is accountability. As I worked alongside my classmates, I realized we all came for different reasons, but everyone was supportive and glad to be there. Over time, we build bonds. We encourage one another, celebrate wins, and share tips and motivation. I did not want to miss class because I did not want to miss that connection.  It is a great environment, non-competitive, and fun!  You can always hear words of encouragement, as we go through our works, as we all cheer each other on.

Trainers Who Make It Fun

The participants make a huge difference, but the trainers are what make Tall Trainer truly stand out. Their energy is contagious, and they make working out fun.

·       High-energy cardio workouts

·       Challenging strength training

·       Dance parties

·       Creative themed workouts

The variety keeps every class interesting and challenging. I never know exactly what to expect. Some days I hope for a low-intensity work out and get high-cardio instead, but I always leave feeling accomplished and motivated.

A Personal Goal: My First 5K

This past New Year, Jeremy encouraged us to set goals. After thinking it over, I decided to run a 5K. I had always believed I should be able to finish one, even though I am not a runner. I shared the goal with my class in January and signed up for a June race. Then reality hit: what had I just committed to?

I was not alone. Everyone encouraged me as I prepared. On race day, Jeremy was there running and offered support before the start. Even more meaningful, he came back at the finish line and was one of the first people to congratulate me. His excitement made my accomplishment feel like a Tall Trainer accomplishment too—and honestly, without Tall Trainer, I would not have done it. Later that evening, Dominic called just to check in and ask how it went. It was another reminder of Tall Trainer’s commitment to its members.

Why I Recommend Tall Trainer

If you are looking for a place that is judgment-free, encouraging, and genuinely life-changing, Tall Trainer is that place. I have never once regretted joining. Yes, the work has been mine to do—but I know I could not have come this far without Tall Trainer beside me. Their commitment to our success goes far beyond workouts. They see us as people, not numbers, and they create an environment where we are challenged, supported, and inspired to become the strongest versions of ourselves.
