My love handles began to grow..
I grew up as a skinny kid and I didn’t pay much attention to what I was eating. I married in my twenties and was introduced to new foods by my new, extended family. As I started my career and had two children I began a period of inactivity and I always seemed too tired or just didn’t have enough time to work out. I tried to eat healthy sometimes, but not very often. I tried to work out but it usually only amounted to fifteen or twenty minutes here and there on the treadmill in the basement. My love handles began to grow, as did my stomach.
Looking back at some of our old vacation pictures I didn’t like the way that I looked at all and I knew that I had to change my eating habits and get serious about my health. I gave healthy eating a half hearted effort and I got back on the treadmill in the basement here and there. In my thirties I had a pattern of eating whatever I wanted and then looking in the mirror and not liking what I saw. Two or three times a month I would lift some weights in the basement and take a walk or use the treadmill. What I was doing didn’t amount to much and the person that I saw in the mirror looked the same.
A year or so ago I ran into a couple of people that I hadn’t seen in a while and both commented on my weight. Others were taking notice of the weight that I had gained over the years and it hit me pretty hard. I knew that I had to make some serious changes.
Around this time my wife was just beginning her second Tall Trainer boot camp and I took notice of how serious and committed she was about changing her eating habits and working out. A little while later she asked me if I wanted to give Tall Trainer a try. I though it over and eventually decided to give it a try.
At first I could hardly make it through a workout. The beginning warm-up was too much! Eventually my stamina increased, I got stronger and began to really feel good. I began to lose weight and lose inches off of my waste. People at work and my family at home began to take notice of my appearance in a good way!
I cannot thank everyone at Tall Trainer enough, especially Andrew, for helping me, educating me and pushing me to challenge myself. I look and feel better than I have in years; I’m probably in better shape now than I was when I was in my twenties. In November I completed a 5K run. A year ago I couldn’t even run to the end of my driveway! Thank you to everyone at Tall Trainer!
