I wanted it to be a lifestyle

transformation stories Mar 19, 2025

I started with Tall Trainer online during covid, I had never been active before to this capacity, but I had already been doing some dieting and had kicked off some weight before I started to implement exercise. I hated trying on clothes, and doing the most remedial tasks that would tire me out so easily.

I was doing a keto diet and the second I wasn’t sticking right to it, I gained, so I realized  I needed something more stable and realistic since I wanted it to be a lifestyle.

I felt myself started to slack at home, during a 30 second rest, I would get side tracked or wake up late and not finish the full work out. I struggled to wake up with enough time to get myself up and out for work, to be consistent and goal set for my health, my mental health was all over the place as I changed careers and was stepping fully into new territory in a lot of areas of my life, and I HATED tracking my food, the thoughts were daunting. I decided that I’ve spent my money on a lot of things, why skimp on my health…so I signed up for in person classes everyday at 6am..

I came into the gym nervous, but excited, the beginning was challenging, even after I had achieved a lot at home, being in person and having peers and trainers motivating you takes it to an entirely different level but it gave me something to reach for. I learned a lot everyday about nutrition, the body, how to eat, what to eat, the coaching, the video feedback or how to tweak to reach my weight loss goals. What to avoid, how to properly perform each exercise to reach maximum capacity, safely. Posture, range of motion, the fundamentals.

I watched myself improve and lose weight while gaining muscle and even on the months that felt more like maintenance, the measurements and the metrics we track monthly proved progress time and time again.

All in all, I’ve stuck it out, at Tall Trainer I’ve lost 68 pounds but in total I’ve lost 100, I wake up everyday, get my workout done, get ready for work and have time to do things at my pace, no rushing. The consistency and energy has given me the mental health and support I’ve needed, and has helped me prioritize and manage all areas of my life.  I have remained on this trajectory and haven’t looked back..the momentum, the accomplishment, the results I never thought I’d see, the strength, accountability, and support I feel every single day has become a staple in my life.

I can do things I never thought possible, hiking, activities, running, weightlifting, endurance, watching my muscles come through that I’ve never seen before, my body moving easily when I used to get too tired to even tie my shoes…

The best advice I can give is it show up everyday, for yourself, for your health, no excuses. Bad weather, late night, whatever it is, show up anyway. Utilize all of the resources given to you to be successful. If you take the feedback and make the changes, you will get the results. It’s fully become a lifestyle for me and I couldn’t be more grateful to be apart of a group who roots for you, loves you, and supports you through every step even though I come into class looking sleepy and grumpy sometimes, I always leave with a laugh and a smile on my face 🤣
