The Story Behind the Picture...
Obviously, the man is giving the woman flowers, but why?
But back to the story… After losing the weight, I felt good, so I tried something different/daring – modeling gowns for a bridal show! This was a stretch because I’m a behind the scenes person. My family was there to cheer me on as I was very nervous. I fell in love with the red dress (one of many that I modeled), so my husband decided to buy it for me. He set up a “photo shoot” with Rita and Dianna Hart Photography at Primadonna Bridals as a ruse to have me do a fitting for the dress so that he could take me out on a pre-30th anniversary surprise date.
I got there, got the dress pinned, they took a bunch of pictures, then my son came in to take video “for his advertising” as a part of the “photo shoot”, then my husband showed up with a dozen roses: 7 red, 5 white. The first time
I was given that combination was the day he asked me to marry him. So I got teary eyed…then he says, this is just the beginning. I’ve rented a car and we’re driving to Syracuse to a really nice Thai restaurant, then going to see Phantom of the Opera! It was an amazing date and I felt fabulous, loved, and pampered and my husband thinks I look hot! What more could a girl ask for? (This has me wondering…our 30th isn’t until December…)

I first have to say that my mother has never been prettier than she is now. I can't tell you her age because that's just not right. Let's just say she is old enough to have a son that has had time to finish college, work for someone else, and then start his own personal training business.
She has changed so much in the past couple years. I believe she actually likes who she is now. She actually didn't mind looking at pictures of herself. She used to be repulsed by the idea of being on camera. I was even able to talk her into being in Rita's (Primadonna Bridals) bridal show. While she was modeling in the show she had to wear this red dress. She absolutely loved the dress.
Having said all this, my father is a very happy man. As soon as he saw her in the red dress he absolutely loved it. Right then he decided to buy it for her. The only problem is there aren't many things to do in a dress like that. He talked to Rita about making this a surprise and together they put together this whole plan.
So they found out the Phantom of the Opera was playing in Syracuse. My mother loves the phantom. So after a rental car, tickets, and dinner reservations they had an amazing evening planned.
The trick became how to get Jacqui (my mom) into the dress without her knowing it was going to be purchased for her and without her knowing these elaborate plans. Well the story became that Rita needed some pictures for her website for "marketing" reasons. So, Rita called Dianna Hart who was instantly excited to be a part of this. You'll see from the pictures that Dianna has an amazing knack for capturing the emotion of the moment. She is amazing at unstaged photography. She was also a personal training client of mine and had great success on her program.
When the day came my parents found themselves
painting an apartment (they own a couple rental properties and needed to repaint one so they could rent it out). My mother left my father to finish up painting and got cleaned up for her appointment. At the same time my father rented the car got into the house just after she left and got himself all cleaned up. I went with my father to the bridal shop. I had told my mom I might take a video of her photo shoot to put on my website to celebrate her accomplishments and how great she looked. But of course the real reason was to capture this moment.

There are actually quite a few reasons…It started with the woman (me) wanting to lose weight. I was a size 14 and still gaining, and in that time of life when you have a milestone birthday and the children are growing up and almost all gone, and you say, what now? What about me? I decided to take control of my health and weight (lots of details I’m not going into here). I was dedicated and worked at it and lost 28 pounds, but in the past, those 28 pounds put me into a size 8 or 10 and now I’m in a 6! Working with a trainer re-sculpted me. I have more muscle tone that I ever have.
